14. what is your food philosophy
Tuesday, October 15, 2013I am actually quite passionate about this. People have such a negative attitude towards food sometimes. I understand that people want to be healthy and eat or not eat certain things. I understand that sometimes people will turn down dessert or some other treat because of a goal to eat healthier or cleaner. I understand that some people are obese due to genetics and dieting habits. I understand that carrots and apples are healthier than cookies and cupcakes.
But cookies and cupcakes are delicious.
If you choose to eat one, for the love of everything that is good in the world, do not keep talking about how many calories it is or how many laps at the gym you will have to do to make up for it. Just enjoy it, please.
If you are on a trip in Europe and gelato stands are every 30 yards, don't kick yourself for having gelato three times in one day. Why? 1) it is delicious and 2) you will only get to walk the streets of Europe while dining on gelato only so many times in your life. Enjoy it. If you are going to complain about eating a certain food that could be "unhealthy" don't eat it at all. Practice some self control. And if you are with a group of people where a dessert is served and you choose not to eat it, don't you dare talk negatively about it while other people are trying to enjoy it. Eating food should be an experience and it doesn't need to be ruined by your food hating talk.
And can we just destroy the "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" pin? Thank you.
