I can't believe I finished my planned posts list! As hard as it is to believe, I have been (very) slowly making my way through this list for the past two years. Now the list is complete and each post is written and I am ready to share it with the world!

This list is ultimately inspired by Hank Green from the
Youtube channel vlogbrothers. He
made a video called “15 of My Favorite Feelings,” and his video inspired
hundreds of people to make videos of their own favorite feelings, which then
inspired me to draw up my own list of 15 of my favorite feelings.
Here we go!
1. Washing my face at the end of the day.
2. Waiting to turn left at an intersection and the green turn arrow appears.
3. Sleeping in a bed with clean sheets.
4. When a group of people breaks out in song all together.
5. Drinking hot chocolate.
6. Discussing Harry Potter with fellow HP fans.
7. Going to the temple.
8. When someone says they miss me.
9. Seeing crocuses bloom in my parents’ yard in springtime.
10. Organizing my house late at night and getting rid of stuff.
11. Napping during a movie.
12. When I discover a really, really good book.
13. Waking up at a good time without an alarm.
14. Performing child’s pose in yoga.
15. Wearing pajama pants.
Here are some of the videos that inspired me:

29. What books or book series did you enjoy reading as a child?
Saturday, August 15, 2015
Remember reading chapter books with pictures and large print
and kids that did amazing things like travel back in time in a tree house or
solve mysteries all on their own? Children’s books are awesome!
When I thought of this topic as one of my 31 planned posts I
got pretty excited! I wrote out a list of books I could remember really
enjoying as a kid, and went to the library to check them out. Normally when I
go the library I don’t spend much time in the children’s section so it was fun
to go back and be reminded of some excellent books I got to read when I was
younger. I’m thankful for all the
adventures I was able to experience within the pages of these books!
Frindle by Andrew Clements – Such a rule breaker book! How
dare an elementary school kid call a pen a “frindle!” It caused quite a stir
throughout the whole town!
The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley series– How
could a 90s kid like myself not include something from MK & A? I’m pretty
sure every girl my age wanted to be them.
Secrets of Droon series by Tony Abbott – When I first wrote
out my list of books I didn’t think about this series. But then I saw it on the
shelf at the library and was completely thrown back to 3rd grade
when I read these books and did multiple book reports on them. And just look at
this cheerful pillow on the back cover!
Amazing Days of Abby Hayes series by Anne Mazer – My
favorite thing about these books is when Abby writes in her diary, THE PRINT IS
PURPLE IN THE BOOK. So cool! And when I wrote in my journal back then, I WROTE
IN PURPLE PEN TOO SO WE COULD BE TWINNERS!
The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids series – I read
SOOO many of these! Is their teacher really a vampire? Is the softball coach a mummy? Is the new
neighbor a genie?? We will never know!!
Magic Tree House series by Mary Pop Osborne – Aren’t they on,
like, #347 of these books? It’s like the Land Before Time series. It just never
ends. But these books are truly amazing. You got to go back in time with Jack
and Annie and hopefully learn something about that historical time or event.
And who can forget this memorable phrase in every. single. book. . .
Junie B. Jones series by Barbara Park – I liked reading
Junie B. Jones because she was hilarious. But I also felt bad for her because
her mom only allowed her to wear clear nail polish. Despite the many drawbacks of clear nail
polish, Junie had many entertaining experiences that were fun to read.
Sammy Keyes series by Wendelin Van Draanen – I absolutely
love this series, and I own *almost*
every book. I know these are considered a 4th or 5th
grade reading level, but that has never stopped me from being just as excited
as a 5th grader to read the latest mystery Sammy Keyes is trying to
solve.
Marvin Redpost series by Louis Sachar – Good ol’ Marvin
Redpost. Just a regular, red-headed kid that has weird things happen to him
like think he’s a girl after he licks his elbow or finds himself alone at his
teacher’s house.
Magic Attic Club – Where is my tree house/attic/wardrobe to
take me back in time or to a magical land?? Obviously, we all need one since
there are so many kids’ books about them.
Running Out of Time by Margaret Peterson Haddix – I read
this book multiple times throughout elementary school and junior high. It’s
just so good! I may even re-read it in the near future to experience its
mystery and suspense once more.
Thank you for reading! I hope you experienced a nice blast
from the past with this post.
Did you read any of these books as a kid?
Hello, fine people.
First, let me just say HOW IS IT ALREADY AUGUST?! Summer is going by sooooo quickly! Let's enjoy it while it lasts!
Moving on.
This blog post is brought to you by the steak dinner we had a few nights ago. I was able to utilize one of my favorite life hacks and I thought, "I need to share this with the world!" So that is what I will be teaching today.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you . . .
If you don't already know about this hack, get ready to simplify your life and eliminate the horrible task that is trying to clean a George Foreman Grill!
You will need:
1. A George Foreman Grill.
2. Your favorite brand of aluminum foil.
3. Delicious cuts of meat to cook on said grill.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN GRILL ON QUITE YET!!
Now follow these simple steps:
Now you can enjoy your dinner as the grill cools.
Once the grill is cooled off, clean up is . . .
Aaaaaannndddd Ta-da!! The grill is clean and it took you 3 seconds. Thank you, aluminum foil!

27. If you could live in any past time period, what would it be?
Sunday, June 21, 2015
It's Sunday night and I'm sad the weekend is over and I feel the need to blog!
Here is the answer to today's question:
Hands down, I would want to try living in the roaring 20s. The hair! The fashion! The Charleston! I became infatuated with the 20s when I first read The Great Gatsby in my junior year of high school. Such a fascinating era!

I can't get over the adorableness of this one! ^

*sigh*
It looked like such a fun time! Can I just visit for like a month, please??
Now let's all drool over these gorgeous editions of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novels

I'll take one of each.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful night and dream happy dreams!
Hey! Look at all the changes! I decided to be adventurous and change the design of my blog a bit. It's still a work in progress, but I'm really enjoying this new look!
So today I thought I would share a few the things I've been loving lately.
1. Febreze Air Effects air freshener in Greek Seaside. This was a bit of an impulse purchase from Target that I do not regret AT ALL! It's not like my home is super smelly, but I really enjoy when things smell fresh and clean. And after testing all the febrezes in the Target isle, I decided this was the winner. It. Is. Fantastic. Imagine taking a vacation to the ocean where the salty sea air embraces your soul and cleanses your mind. That is this air freshener.
2. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. Ooh this book. This is one of those books that makes you think a little deeper about life in general and it's just a good story. And that is all I will say about it so no spoilers happen. (Shout out to my wonderful friend Shelby for sending me this book!!)
3. 20 oz water bottle by Zulu. Another great purchase from Target. I had been searching for a big girl water bottle I could bring to work and this fit the ticket. It is a glass bottle (which I think is way awesome) that is protected by the pink rubbery casing. I remember the tag on the bottle said something like, "Water tastes better from a glass!" or something like that and I would have to agree. I also really like the 20 ounce size. I only have to drink about 3 of these and I have had my healthy dose of water for the day! And as you can see, the color is awesome.
4. iPad mini. Nathan practically had to drag me to the store to get this little guy. Which sounds insane, I know. He knew I wanted one, but I didn't want to get one quite yet because they aren't exactly the cheapest, but after some convincing we went to Target (can you tell we spend a lot of time there?) and just did it. IT IS SO CUTE! I also have a little keyboard case for it and when it's all together it's like the world's most adorable laptop and I love it.
5. Sunbelt Bakery Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip granola bars. I love every granola bar by Sunbelt Bakery, but we bought these ones recently and it has been my snack of choice lately. And this is super strange, but I love the wrappers they use on their granola bars. It seems to have a matte finish rather than a shiny or glossy finish like the Chewy granola bars? I don't know. I guess it just makes me feel fancy.
6. Strange Desire by Bleachers. Rollercoaster is the best song. When it plays I turn it up and all I want to do is jump around and dance my little heart out. Or do aerobics. . . It really would be a wonderful aerobics/cardio workout song.
7. Amazonian clay BB tinted moisturizer by Tarte in Ivory. I actually bought this last summer, but have only been using it off and on since then. For awhile I was using the Maybelline Fit Me foundation (which I really like too), but it dried out my skin a little too much for my liking. I hated coming home from work and seeing how dehydrated and flaky my skin looked after wearing the Maybelline foundation all day, so I took the Tarte one out again a gave it a shot. LIFE CHANGING! I have been using it every day for the past couple weeks and I can totally see a difference in my skin. Since it's a tinted moisturizer it doesn't provide as much coverage as a normal foundation, but your skin feels SO much better while wearing it. Especially if you wear makeup during those long 9 hour work days like I do. And it just makes your skin look good! I've heard so many people describe the look of Amazonian clay products as "your skin, but better" and it's so true. My skin no longer looks like it's screaming for moisture at the end of the day, and I swear it has some magical ingredient that has cleared up my skin a bit as well. Annnnndddddd it has SPF, which is an absolute must for me for any moisturizer I purchase. Run to Ulta and buy yourself some of this greatness!!!!
8. Apt 9 Long Chevron Necklace from Kohl's. Things I like about this necklace: the geometric look, the cool stone thing in the triangle, it dresses up any plain old t-shirt, it was on sale. Enough said.
9. Cool Amazon Rain body lotion by Bath & Body Works. Again with the Amazon! My sister-in-law generously gave me this lotion and I love the light, clean, and slightly fruity scent. I think it's perfect for summer. I've been using it as a hand lotion every night for weeks.

10. Midnight Memories by One Direction. Yes, I love One Direction. And you know you've married a keeper when he says, "I will buy you that One Direction CD you want under one condition: you won't make me listen to it when I am in your car with you." Yeeessssss!!! Listening to it on the way to work pumps me up and listening to it on the way home makes traffic much more bearable. My favorite songs are ALL OF THEM. Well, except for Little Black Dress. But if I only skip one song on an entire album, I'm pretty impressed.
Okay, that's it! Thanks for reading! I'm hoping to post more often in the near future and finish tweaking with the blog design to where I feel completely satisfied. Have a most marvelous day!

I love hobbies! Hobbies help us find our talents and passions and are just plain enjoyable. If they weren't, they wouldn't be our hobbies, right?
Reading will always be a hobby of mine. I'm currently reading The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton. Next on my reading list is Bossypants by the hilarious Tina Fey and Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell.
Another hobby I enjoy is sewing. Right now I'm attempting to sew a snuggly sweatshirt quilt from some of my old sweatshirts.
If I'm lucky, a few days a week I can do yoga with the help of YouTube. Remember how exercising is the worst sometimes? Well, yoga is so nice because it's kiiiinda exercise-y without being tooooo exercise-y. Let's not get crazy. My favorite videos to do are the 30-Day Yoga Challenge with Erin Motz on the doyouyoga channel. I've also been trying out some of the meditation videos they have on their channel. Let's be real - I've never been into meditation or anything like it before, but after trying out a few videos I have discovered it is quite refreshing! Even after only a few sessions, I can tell it helps me feel more mindful, mentally healthy, and less stressed. And I especially love that I can do all this by myself in my own home! #homebodyforlife
Lately, I have been quite interested in hand-lettering. Usually, I'll just doodle something while my husband and I are watching Netflix (a hobby I'm rather excellent at) and I like it because it makes me feel somewhat creative. Sometimes I practice with hand-lettered stuff I find on Pinterest and I can say that with practice you really do get better! Who knows? Maybe I'll share some of my hand-lettered stuff on here sometime. . .
In the meantime, enjoy the weekend! Yay for hobbies!!
